30 Texas Coastal Bend tour guide Fall 2015 Golf carts the big thing in Port Aransas You can own and drive one of these fun open air little vehicles on the streets of Port Aransas although you are more likely to rent one from one of the many golf cart businesses in town. All road rules apply to the operation of golf carts in Port A including DWI and open container laws. They may be driven on the beach and on city streets with speed limits under 35 mph which pretty much covers the entire town. Carts may not be driven on South Alister TX-361 south of Avenue G and drivers must pull to the side when safe to allow faster vehicles to pass. In all the carts are a great way to enjoy Port A Port A pubs and taverns hoppinall year long Its been said before by locals and regular tourists that Port Aransas is a drinking town with a fishing habit. Every season is a reason to celebrate in Port A and the towns watering holes are typically immersed in festivities and merrymaking. Cotter The Gaff323 Beach St. A Great Community Park The people of Port Aransas should be commended for making the choice to invest in a first class community park that offers year-round activities for every member of the family even the four-legged ones The 10000 square foot Skate Park was professionally designed to provide a fun experience for skaters of all ages and skill levels. Features include gaps flats hubbas and grinds all popular skater lingo plus a seven foot kindey shaped bowl. The parks beautiful Public Swimming Pool is open daily during the summer and weekends during other warm weather times of the year and offers a wonderful family friendly atmosphere complete with certified lifeguards. The Baseball and Softball Fields at the community park are newly constructed and well maintained and offer a place to play for Little League high school and private league games. A one acre Dog Park is open during daylight hours and provides two separate ca- nine play grounds one for large dogs and one for the little guys.
