Dec. 13 for the 13th Annual Islander Lights celebration. An arts and crafts market will open at 4 p.m. at the University Center, and the Holiday Bash will kickoff at 5:30. Santa Claus will be on hand for the Lighting Cer- emony at Lee Plaza and the grande finale will be the annual“Sounds of the Season”holiday concert at the Performing Arts Center. Christmas in Portland Santa Claus and the whole Christmas gang will tour Portland in the Parade of Lights, starting Mon. Symphony Holiday Concert The Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Home for the Holidays concert on Sat. Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Performing Art Center. The symphony will be joined by local choirs and Santa Claus will lead a sing-along. Cowboy Christmas Concert Cowboy music legend Michael Martin Murphy brings his 25th Anniversary Cowboy Christmas Concert to TAMUCC’s Performing Arts Center on Sun. Dec. 2, 3–6 p.m. This Texas themed Christmas show features Cowboy music, poetry, funny stories, and happy sing-along’s of the most popular holiday tunes. Planetarium Open House “Season of Light”is a fascinating and en- lightening presentation on how astrono- my affects the earth and humankind, and includes observations of the Northern winter constellations, and illustration on why we have seasons, and possible astrological explanations for a“Star over Bethlehem”at Richard King High School.
