12 Texas Coastal Bend tour guide Early Summer 2015 CorpusChristi Jerry Seinfeld Americas modern King of Comedy returns to Corpus Christis Ameri- can Bank Center Selena Auditorium on Friday July 24th to perform his signature stand up act. A man who requires no introduction Seinfeld returned to his roots on the comedy tour after starring for nearly decade on NBCs Seinfeld the most success- ful sitcom in television history. Through his success on television endorsements and the syndication of the TV series Seinfeld is estimated to have achieved billionaire statusnot bad for a Jewish kid from Brooklyn born to immigrants from Ukraine his father and Syria his mother. Seinfeld was discovered in 1976 by the great Rodney Dangerfield after an open microphone appearance at the Catch a Rising Star comedy club in New York. He first appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981 where he became a regular and which led to a highly successful stand up comedy career throughout the 1980s. In 1988 Seinfeld and writing partner Larry David were given a chance to develop a new sitcom for NBC and along with Michael Richards Kramer Jason Alexander George and Julia Louis-Dreyfus Elaine the most outrageously hilarious foursome in television was created. Seinfeld ran nine seasons ending in 1998 and Jerry is notoriously said to have turned down 5 million per episode to return for a tenth.
