16 Texas Coastal Bend Late Spring 2015 CorpusChristi Texas State Aquarium The Aquarium offers an impressively wide array of sum- mer programs for kids of all ages Pre-K through high school that cover all aspects of marine life on the Texas Coast. Three new topics for 2015 SeaCamp programs are Sharks Oceanography and Bio-Inspiration and include kid favorite activities like fishing presentations by ocean scientists tracking a live shark in the wild and designing usable products from natural materials. The SeaLab Education Center offers sessions on topics rang- ing from buoyancy principles to the flora and fauna of wetlands. In depth overnight camp programs include ZZZs Under the Seawhich offers behind the scenes tours games and even a live dive showScouting Under the Seais designed for Cub Scouts who want to earn their Wildlife Conservation Belt Loop and Aca- demic Pin. TheOceanographycamp is an extended session geared toward secondary science students and Boy Scouts wanting to earn their Oceanography Merit Badge. The full Texas State Aquarium 2015 SeaCamp curriculum includes tours programs animal encoun- ters fishing and water activities. Younger children will enjoy arts crafts and story times while older children will engage in field experiences gobehind the scenes with animal care staff and enjoy an overnight stay either at the Aquarium or a local wildlife conservation center. 2710 N.
