FESTIVAL LABOR DAY WEEKEND Downtown Festival Saturday-Sunday September 1-2: Art Center of Corpus Christi—The full-scale art festival will reemerge this Labor Day Weekend at the beautiful Art Center of Corpus Christi, where the work of dozens of Coastal Bend artists will be on display, much of it for sale. Two days of seminars, hands-on activi- ties, classes and kids activities will take visitors on a journey through a wide range of artistic media and disciplines. Festival will open at 10 a.m., with live music at 6 p.m. ArtCenterCC.org 9TH CLASSIC ROCK 104.5 ROCK & RIDE Motorcycle Festival Friday-Saturday September 8-9: Around Corpus Christi Bay—This 9th annual “poker run”style motorcycle rally kicks off with a Packet Pick-up Party at Brewster Street Icehouse from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening. The rally starts Saturday morning at Corpus Christi Harley Davidson and will run seven stops around the bay from the city to North Padre Island, on to Mustang Island and to Port Aransas. The ride ends at Water’s Edge Park on Shoreline Blvd., where the Classic Rock 104.5 Rock & Ride Festival and Concert starts at noon and runs until at least 10 p.m. Headlining the concert will be AC/DC tribute band Back in Black, and legendary rock band, Iron Butterfly. Fun events will include a mustache contest and a chance to unlock a vault and win $100,000 for the first 1,000 guests.
