Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown—In just its second year, the Coastal Bend’s version of this popular en- tertainment convention concept, which started in San Diego and spread across the country, is earning its credibility as a truly national-level event. A 1980’s cult classic, The Legend of Billie Jean told the story of two working class siblings who fought local bullies and defied the system in their battle for neighborhood justice (see The Return of Billie Jean, page 28). The film’s star and would-be Supergirl, Helen Slater, will be on hand to meet fans at C.C.Comic Con. No kid who grew up in the late 70’s and early 80’s wasn’t a fanatic for The Incred‑ ible Hulk, the ABC series that became the top TV show in the country. Lou Fer- rigno, a world-class bodybuilder, appeared with Arnold Schwartzenegger in the 1975 documentary, Pumping Iron, and was soon cast to play The Hulk. Jon Heder burst into the film world as the lovable dork in Napoleon Dynamite, and has since starred in numerous live action and animated movies and TV shows. Michael Rosenbaum has worked on films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Hit and Run and Urban Legend, but may be best known as Lex Luther on the hit show, Smallville. Diamond Dallas Page was a three-time WWF (now WWE) pro wrestling champion, and now motivational speaker and yoga guru. Doug Hazlewood has been one of the top DC Comics artists for decades, including his work on the top-selling graphic novel of all time, The Death of Superman. Other celebrities in attendance will include live-action and voice actors, comics artists and more, plus unique vendors, games and demos.
